What are we marching for?

There have been two interesting and useful contributions to the debate about what we are marching for.

In yesterday’s Guardian, George Monbiot suggested that we were not clear enough about the alternative and could not boil it down to a flyer (though we quite like being called “brilliant and brave”).

We’ve done our best to set out both the arguments against the cuts and the alternative – and boiled down to bullet points the alternative reads:

South London Coach Parking Spaces Now Available

We have now secured nearly 400 parking places across two south London locations – New Covent Garden near Vauxhall and the iconic Battersea Power Station. These two coach parks are very close to each other in SW8. They will be ideally located for coaches coming in from Wales, the south west and the south coast.

VIDEO: On the march

Singer/songwriter John D Lewis sent in a link to his latest video, which he’s using to raise awareness for the march. Thanks John – We’ll be humming this for a while! You can find this song and more of John’s music on his site.

Latest arrangements for Access and Disability

We are continuing to work hard to make the March for the Alternative as accessible as is practical. Here are our updated arrangements for three different assembly points for people with impaired mobility.

The perfect tool? TUC video contest entry

Check out this entry to the TUC’s competition to make short videos about the cuts. Entries are starting to come in now, aiming to impress the judges and be shown on the big screen at the rally on March 26th.

Got an idea for a film? You can find out how to enter the contest yourself (and see the other entries) at www.tuc60seconds.org.uk
