Lost property – calling Adrian from Birmingham and someone who’s lost their specs

If you’re called Adrian and came to the march from Birmingham then we have your wallet with two bank cards and a library card. We suspect it probably had more in when you lost it but we can return what’s left. Please email us.

And if you’ve lost a pair of Eye Time glasses with metallic blue grey frames, we’ve got them too.

But if you’re a government minister, we’re afraid you can’t have your support back.

Thanks for marching with us!

This IS the big societyThanks to the 250,000+ who marched in Central London today. A huge turnout from many trade unions and community organisations meant the march ran for five hours – a solid swathe of marchers from Blackfriars to Hyde Park – with people travelling from all over the country. The first coaches left last night in order to get here, and people will be a long time getting home – a real committment!

This will send a strong signal to the government that those opposing their fast and deep public spending cuts are not an easily ignored minority. In fact, as YouGov showed today, we’re now the mainstream majority.

Big as today was, it is only one step in a larger campaign, and there will be a lot to fight for in coming months. Check out False Economy’s listings of anti-cuts groups and actions near you, to see what’s going on in your own area.

And look out for 1st April : All Together for the NHS Day, when we’re stepping up the lobbying of MPs against cuts in the NHS.

It’s tomorrow!

So here are some last minute tips:

Stagger your arrival times:
The march assembles from 11am, but it will still be leaving at 2pm and possibly even later. Londoners might want to arrive later on. It’ll reduce your waiting times on the Embankment, as well as letting colleagues who’ve come the furthest distances to more easily get to their early coaches home.

Arrive from the rear of the march:
The front of the march will be forming up from Embankment tube, but unless you are coming very early, please use stations further back as when the Embankment is full we will need to route people to the rear via side streets. So think stations like Southwark, Mansion House, Bank and Farringdon. There is detailed advice on our website.

Be Patient:
The form up in particular will take some time. People arriving at the assembly area from side-streets and across bridges may have to queue to join the march. So if you need to wait, this is simply because the assembly area is full.

Useful new map for New Covent Garden coach park

Here’s a useful new map that shows the pedestrian route in and out of New Covent Garden coach parking. This makes much it very clear where the coaches will park and how close it is to Vauxhall station.

But it’s still full!
